PEUGEOT 104

3-door 4-seater hatchback/4-door 4-seater saloon/5-door 4-seater hatchback.

Peugeot's first Supermini, notable for having four-door saloon style when others had two, and all-new light-alloy engine leaning back at 72 degrees. All-coil, all-independent suspension and front-drive package was modern, but style was dull, at first. From end '73, short-wheelbase hatchback brought some sporty image, especially with laer (larger) engines to 80bhp and 100mph top speed. Engine/transmission pack used in other cars like Citroën Visa, body shell for Citroën LN/LNA.
