RELIANT SCIMITAR GT

2-door 2+2-seater coupé.

Last few of this famous car were built in 1970, ousted in popularity by the GTE. Separate chassis, Ogle-styled glass-fibre body, Ford engines and transmission (with optional ZF) and Triumph TR front suspension. It should have been a mongrel, but was surprisingly fast, stable and elegant. 110mph from rare 21/2-litre, nearer 120mph from 3-litre model. Really, though, a car of the sixties.
