ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER SHADOW
4-door 5-seater saloon.
First-ever monocoque model from Crewe, complete with all-independent suspension, disc brakes, power assisted everything, self-levelling, and the (claimed) ultimate in build quality. All had 6.75 litres from summer 1970, and all had GM400 automatic transmission. 17ft long, 4800lbs unladen and near-120mph top speed, but 12-14mpg. Naturally, it's a 'classic' today, but come to terms with colossal costs of ownership before buying one!
