SINGER BANTAM
2-door Popular saloon, 4-door Popular saloon, 2-door saloon de luxe, 4-door saloon de luxe, 2/4 seater tourer, 2/4 seater tourer de luxe.
Updated Nine looking suspiciously like a Morris Eight. Frame was new on a 91ins wheelbase, and it was available in de luxe form with sliding roof, bumpers, luggage carrier and leather seats - the Popular version did without these 'goodies' but was £10 less. Innovatory was a three-speed synchro 'box, much to the horror of Singer fans. By '38 there were easy clean wheels, the engine had been enlarged and acquired an extra main bearing and price was now £139 10s for the Popular. More pleasant than contemporary Morrises and Fords, but where are they all?
