STANDARD FLYING EIGHT

Saloon, saloon de luxe, tourer, drophead coupé.

Entirely new small car, complete with long stroke engine to beat the taxman, transverse leaf ifs and live rear axle, pressed steel wheels, spiral bevel final drive and three speed synchromesh 'box. Quite fast, with a 60-65mph maximum, and frugal too, while miniature dhc was available from late '39 on. Not a pretty machine.
