Tatra

Tatra
TATRA TYPE 77

Streamline saloon.

Another production from the Central European design school, and a remarkable one at that. Ledwinka's car had V8 engine living over the back axle, driving forward to the back axle, the whole pack easily removable. All suspension was independent and mounted in a box-section frame, with fuel tank and luggage compartment mounted centrally. Not overly attractive, but it would top 90mph, there was a fine ride and freedom from fumes - against was a lack of interior warmth, a poor gear change and sudden breakaway on the limit.
