Toyota's first small hatchback, but still hiding 'classic' front engine/beam rear axle chassis. Neat but understated bodystyles, slightly rounded (VW Golf Mk II style, perhaps?). Estates not sold here, and 1.3-litre only available from 1982. A good if uninspiring car, having to fight very hard in the Fiesta/Chevette/Metro category. Well-equipped, as expected, and five-speed gearbox on most varieties.
