Triumph

Triumph
TRIUMPH 1300/1300TC

4-door 4-seater saloon.

Triumph's only front-wheel drive car, with north-south Herald/Spitfire type engine sitting atop the transmission. Rather dumpy Michelotti style, only built as a saloon, with all-independent suspension, servo discs on the 1300TC, all-synchro transmission (no automatic option), and 61 or 75bhp. 85mph or 95mph depending on engine tune, all with high-quality trim, wood facia, full instrumentation, and decent seats. Displaced by the 1500 model for 1971, and modified body shell used in rear drive Toledos, Dolomites, etc, during seventies.
