Triumph

Triumph
TRIUMPH 1500TC

4-door 4-seater saloon.

Triumph finally dropped the front drive 1500 in late '73, replacing it with the rear-drive/live-axle 1500TC instead. An amalgam of 1500 superstructure and style with four-headlamp nose and smart interior, but Toledo-type underpinnings and conventional front engine/beam rear axle drive line. 'TC' meant twin SU Carbs, 64bhp and a 91mph top speed. Up to 30mpg was possible - but this was a car for Acacia Avenue not Brands Hatch! Like the Toledo, this became a 'Dolomite' in 1976.
