TRIUMPH 1800 SALOON 18T

Saloon.

First Standard-made Triumph, in full razor-edge idiom with thin pillars; body is alloy, over ash frame. Steel-tube chassis Standard-type transverse-leaf ifs, self-adjusting hydraulic brakes, and right-handed four-on-the-column; 65bhp ohv engine as supplied to Jaguar for the 1 1/2-litre. Very staid, and prone to major understeer, but on the plus side all the Triumph clubs are very well organised.
