The definitive V8-engined TR, much delayed by strikes, marketing muddles and financial trauma (should have been on sale in 1978!), for USA sale only in left-hand-drive, even so, a score of RHD cars were built, and survive today. For the USA, 135bhp with carbs, or fuel injection (depending on State) and approx 120mph, but only 18mpg. As with four-cylinder TR7, the convertible was much the best type. Beware imitations - many TR7s have been 'converted' to TR8 spec.
