First of the new Martin Lilley-generation TVRs, superficially like their ancestors, but with new, stiffer, multi-tubular backbone frame, all-independent (coil spring) suspension, and longer glass-fibre coupé body style. 2500M was mainly for USA export, as de-toxed Triumph TR6 engine/transmission was used, as on ousted 2500 model (UK versions were 1600M and 3000M, see below). Compared with old models, had longer wheelbase, longer nose and tail, but still only two seater accommodation, and no exterior boot access. Alloy wheels and optional overdrive were good features.
