The Classic Car Boot Sale is set to return to the capital on 3-4 October for its fifth event, this time setting up stall at the Lewis Cubitt Square, near King’s Cross.
The event is set to be more popular than ever before, with dozens of classics expected to be on display throughout the weekend. As well as being able to admire the cars, visitors will also enjoy one of the best vintage markets to be found in the city, with many vehicles doubling as makeshift stalls.
A 1979 Renault Estafette that started life delivering nuts in Yorkshire will stay true to its commercial roots when it becomes a shop-front for vintage homewares and bric-a-brac, while a 1965 Volkswagen Camper previously featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces will be used to sell clothes.
Elsewhere, record collectors will be drawn to a 1959 Humber Super Snipe – a regular attraction at the event. It is nearly matched in the rarity stakes by a 1990 Mary Quant limited edition Mini.
There will be plenty of entertainment on offer, too, with Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-Long making an appearance on Sunday, plus a string of automotive street food vendors, including authentic Mexican cuisine served from a converted Citroën H Van.
