Last Ford Capri built stars in new Jamie Oliver TV show

| 7 Dec 2012

The last Ford Capri ever built – a 280 'Brooklands' – stars along side Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty in their new TV series Food Fight Club.

Though partially filmed in Essex, the rest of the show – which kicked off last night on Channel 4 in the UK – will travel all over Europe as the pair try to convince the continentals of the delights of British cuisine.

The Capri is the celebrity chefs' transport and was chosen by Doherty and Oliver because it was one of hallmarks of their childhoods and the car that they aspired to in the 1980s.

Just 1038 280s were built by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering division and the model features a 2792cc V6 providing a top speed of 127mph.
