Le Mans Prototypes will star at next year’s Members’ Meeting, with the world’s fastest closed-wheel racers set to tear up the Goodwood track.
While we generally prefer our race cars to be of the historic variety, there’s no doubting the sheer spectacle – aural and visual – of a modern sports car. And for that reason alone, the second of the three high-speed demonstrations at the 2019 Members’ Meeting promises to be well worth catching.
There are as yet no specific details as to which LMP cars will be appearing at the April event, but we do know that the demo will feature vehicles from the past 20 years – and that Le Mans drivers will also be involved.
We also know that the La Sarthe racers will enjoy one of the prime Goodwood slots: Saturday night, just as dusk falls. Should be quite the occasion…
“Le Mans Prototypes are some of the fastest racing cars in the world, and some of the most fascinating. What other race has no restriction on engine type and has seen victories for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars in just a quarter of a century?” said Matt Hearn, Motorsport Content Manager at Goodwood.
