As if unearthing a treasure trove of super-rare classic-car parts estimated to be worth at least £1 million, wasn't enough, there's something else pretty special – not to mention rather unusual – crossing the block at tomorrow's Coys auction at Blenheim Palace.
How about a complete kit of parts to build a Ferrari GTO. Yes, you read that right. A GTO kit car. For real.
And it is being offered with no reserve.
What's included? Well, there's the chassis frame of a 1962 Ferrari 250 (#4105GT), plus an original Ferrari TIPO 128S V12 engine, wheels, cooling, suspension and braking components, some gauges and dials, bodywork sections and what's described as a 'highly authentic tubular steel frame in the GTO style'.
Stamped into the chassis is a statement from the car's former owner, Fabrizio Violati, dated 10 January 1988, confirming that this is 'a faithful copy of my GTO #3851'.
The precise location of the find is not being revealed, although it was at the same site as the previous haul, albeit in a separate container.
Once the property of a Ferrari collector, it's understood that these GTO parts were discovered only a few days ago.
