Acclaimed car designer Ian Callum’s personal collection has been revealed as one of the special features at this summer’s London Concours.
Surely if you can trust anyone to curate an eye-catching group of classic cars, a car designer would be pretty near the top of the list.
And, interestingly, most of the cars in the collection have been tweaked, fettled and personalised by the former Ford, TWR, Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover designer, making them an even more intriguing selection.
An example of this is Callum’s 1976 Jaguar XJ Coupé with modified pillarless doors to highlight the car’s profile.
This will be joined at the London Concours, held at the Honourable Artillery Company HQ in central London on 10-11 June, by Callum’s Triumph TR6, his lightly tweaked Porsche 911 (993) and his Alfa Romeo Giulia GTV.
And for something completely different – but that Callum prizes for the simplicity of its design – there’s also his 1932 Ford Model B hot rod.
“Having Ian Callum as The Collector at London Concours this year is a real honour for us,” said Andrew Evans, the show’s director.
