Another barn-find E-type?

Classic & Sports Car – Another barn-find E-type?

Yes, you read that right. Who'd have thought long-lost E-types were like buses?

But it seems to be the case, because mere days after we revealed that an E-type left untouched for around 40 years is heading to auction, another has emerged.

The car in question is a 1962 3.8-litre coupé that's been stored in a garage for the last 35 years in Moray, Scotland.

We're not sure whether that makes it a garage-find car, rather than a barn-find, but either way, it's going under the hammer on 19 July in the H&H Classics sale in Buxton, Derbyshire.

This 1962 E-type is coming to auction later this month

The good news for prospective buyers isn't just that this car is being offered with no reserve, but also that it's original.

Not only is this E-type complete, it is also a matching-numbers car that will be sold with its V5C and heritage certificate.

It has covered 66,551 miles in its 56 years and is estimated to sell for £30,000-£40,000.

Could this 66,551-mile E-type be your next project?

"The joy of this job is that now and then you stumble across a car that you just know is going to excite other car lovers as much as it excites you," said Roger Nowell, from the H&H Classics sales team, who discovered this car.

"This E-type is such an iconic symbol of its time and our motoring history. It was utterly revolutionary in its day and had a massive influence on the automotive industry."

So if you'd like to give 399 ELC a new home, don't miss the H&H Classics sale in Derbyshire on 19 July.
