Classic Car Auctions – a subsidiary of Silverstone Auctions – held its first ever sale on 3 March, with more than £400,000-worth of classics getting away.
The biggest price of the day was paid for one of the most modern cars in the sale, a 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo finished in Riviera Blue. The car fetched £30,740 – £4000 above its pre-sale lower estimate – and was followed by a Morgan Aero 8 from the same year, which achieved £27,030.
The last Mini to be sold it Scotland drew a great deal of interest in the run up to the sale, eventually selling for £16,854. The 2001 Rover Mini Cooper had just 182 miles on the clock.
A brace of performance BMWs also attracted plenty of attention. A low-mileage E36 M3 Evo made £13,250, while an E34 M5 Nürburgring Edition fetched £13,356 – just above its lower estimate.
Auction manager Joe Watts said: "It's been a great first sale for us and it's been fantastic to see so many enthusiasts and buyers come and visit us for what will hopefully be the first auction of many."
