A record 94 Volkswagen Sciroccos covering all three iterations of the model turned out at RAF Cosford on 5 August for the Scirocco Register National Meet.
“It was our 10th year at this venue and it was just amazing in how many people came out to show their support for the club,” said the Scirocco Register’s Heath Scotchford. “There were 70 Sciroccos parked between the hangars by 11am, which was a record, but it didn’t stop there and by 3pm we had a total of 94 cars.”
“While we’re talking about records, the Dutch contingent continues to grow and grow, with seven Sciroccos making the trip including a very early Mk1, giving the National Meet a bigger international presence.
“As usual, those in attendance voted for the best Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 of the day. There were 70 Ml2s ranging from daily drivers to rat racers – there was truly something for everyone.”
Peter Isaacs collected the gong for Best Mk1, while the Best Mk2 award went to event debutante Eddie Fray, who arrived in his partner’s modified example.
