Finnish rally legend Ari Vatanen is the latest star to be confirmed for next year's Race Retro, which takes place at Stoneleigh Park from 20-22 February.
The former World Rally Champion is slated to take to the rally course in two of his old cars – aRothmans Ford Escort RS1800 and Opel Manta 400 – as well as giving interviews on the event's live stage.
As well as winning the World Rally Championship in 1981, Vatanen took victory at the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb in 1986 and finished first at four Paris-Dakar Rallies in 1987, '89, '90 and '91.
Vatanen is best remembered for his affinity with Peugeot, and the Group B 205 Turbo 16 in particular. Fittingly, the Finn has written the foreword to a new book, Peugeot 205: The Complete Story by Adam Slaman, which will be on sale throughout the weekend.
The Coventry event is also set to commemorate the life and career of Richard Burns, who lost his battle with brain cancer in 2005. The Richard Burns foundation will be bringing the Scot's rally-winning Peugeot 205 and 309 GTIs, plus his 1992 Group N Subaru Impreza and 2001 championship-winning Impreza.
