Car Zero – the first prototype for the six new Lightweight E-types built by Jaguar Land Rover – will headline the firm's display at the Lancaster Insurance NEC Classic Motor Show.
Just 12 Lightweight E-types were built in 1963 out of a projected production run of 18, with the six continuation cars taking the chassis numbers of the E-types that were never built. Car Zero's presence at the NEC represents a rare opportunity for the public to get up close and personal with the new model.
Jaguar Land Rover will also be marking the 60th anniversary of the D-type, and are celebrating in style with the addition of Ecurie Ecosse's third and final shortnose racer to the stand. Chassis number 561 was built in Coventry in 1956 and is now owned by Adam Lindermann, who has loaned the car to JLR for the duration of the event.
The D-type celebration comes hot on the heels of the launch of the Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience, which gives members of the public the opportunity to drive the iconic Le Mans legend, as well as a C-type plus Series 1 and 3 E-types.
