Rally legend Paddy Hopkirk and three-times British champion Mark Higgins were the star attractions at Accrington's first motor show. Thousands flocked to the Lancashire town for the event, which raised more than £15,000 for former rally co-driver Chris Wood's spinal injuries fund.
A cavalcade of 100 rally cars, classic cars and super cars made its way into the town to be displayed in front of more than 2000 petrolheads, admirers and passers-by, before returning to the nearby Dunkenhalgh Hotel for an afternoon of family fun and a charity ball.
Wood was left paralysed after falling off his bicycle two years ago. His friend Kev Furber organised the event and said: "I have never been prouder to be a lad from the Accrington area, the turnout in the bad weather was inspirational."
