The roster for this year’s Silverstone Classic has been bolstered by the addition of a brand-new concours d’elegance, which is set to become one of the highlights of the 29-31 July event.
The contest is open to all the clubs registered for the Classic, with club officials encouraged to nominate one car for each of the three main classes: Spirit of the Classic Era, Original and/or Unrestored Classic Car and Historic Classic Car.
The nominated cars will feature on the Silverstone Classic website before being shortlisted by a panel of judges including Formula One designer Tony Southgate, TV personality Mike Brewer, and the Classic & Sports Car editorial team. The contenders will be displayed close to the village green, where visitors will have a chance to get close to the cars ahead of the final judging taking place.
In addition to the three main classes, additional awards will be up for grabs. They include the Judge’s Special Award, Longest Distance Driven to the Event, and the Spectators’ Special Award, which will be voted for at the Silverstone Classic, and on both the event and Classic & Sports Car websites.
Entry for club nominations is open until 30 June – download the entry form by clicking here
