A host of significant classics are set to return to Hong Kong’s harbour front for the second running of the Hong Kong Classic, which takes place from 9-11 October. Following the success of last year’s event, which featured a 1960s Edsbrat – one of just a handful of racing cars to be built in Hong Kong – an even greater number of vehicles are expected to turn out.
More than 100 classic cars are already confirmed to take part, including a 1967 Lamborghini 400GT formerly owned by ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney. Keeping with the music theme, it will be joined by a 1991 AC Cobra, which was ordered new by Rod Stewart.
Also expected to make an appearance are a 1953 Aston Martin DB2 and a 1949 Ferrari 195 – one of just 24 examples to leave the workshops of Maranello.
In addition to the automotive displays, the harbour front will also play host to egg and spoon races, picnics and sack races, following on from last year’s vintage theme.
A number of industry experts, racing drivers and authorities on classic cars will be giving talks throughout the event, while restoration specialists will be on hand to offer advice to owners.
