London classic car auction house appoints new CEO

Chris Routledge has been announced as the new CEO of Coys auctioneers after chairman Douglas Jamieson stood down at the end of 2015. Routledge, who has been with the firm since 1991, will be joined by new partner Guy Newton. 

I am delighted for Chris and the team,” said Jamieson. I have had a fabulous career with the company and I am looking forward to focusing on my personal pursuits. I have a number of ongoing projects with Coys and will continue to work alongside them on special events in my retirement.”

Chris Routledge said: “Having worked at Coys for 25 years, it is a fantastic feeling to take control of the business which I have devoted so much of my life to. It is all a bit of a fairytale story and I am looking forward to the exciting adventure ahead with Guy and the team.”

Their sentiments were echoed by Guy Newton: “I have worked at alongside Douglas and Chris for a number of years. Douglas’ retirement has given me a great opportunity to join Chris in partnership and work alongside him in the future. I think we make a powerful cocktail of youth, passion and experience.”
