Extracted recently from a garage, this 1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster is heading to auction with Gooding & Company this week, looking for a new owner who’ll bring it back to best.
Consigned to the Geared Online sale, bidding opens at 9am PDT (4pm GMT) today (26 October 2020), with lots beginning to close on 30 October at 12pm PDT (7pm GMT).
This restoration-ready XK is being offered with no reserve, but is expected to achieve $25-40,000 (c£19-31,000).

Discovered in the recent past in a garage in South Carolina, this XK120 Roadster is said to be ‘relatively original and complete’, although it’s spent several decades sat idle.
However before that, this now 64,186-mile Jaguar led a colourful life, competing in rallies and economy runs, and also entering a concours d’elegance, back in the early ’60s with the Cleveland Sports Car Club.
It was completed in Coventry on 26 November 1953, in the Ivory with black leather it retains today, and after being shipped to the US was sold through Hoffman Motors of New York – it also still has its matching-numbers engine, as confirmed by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.
Long-hidden, could this be this XK’s chance of a second shot at life?
