A Jaguar E-type, an Aston Martin DB5 and a Ferrari 250GT SWB will be among the classic cars heading to London Concours as part of a newly announced Golden Age Coupés class.

Celebrating legendary designs from the 1950s and ’60s, these models will form part of a 100-strong display of classic cars at the Honourable Artillery Company in central London on 6-8 June 2023.

They will join the previously confirmed Built To Race For The Road concours class for homologation specials, a Grand Tourisme division for French classic cars, a 60 years of Lamborghini showcase, a celebration of the Porsche RS, plus a class charting the evolution of aerodynamic design in road cars.

Two of the most loved and instantly recognisable British classic cars, both powered by straight-six engines, will be on show and competing for victory in the Golden Age Coupés category.

One of these is an early Jaguar E-type, the other an Aston Martin DB5.

We’re sure these famous shapes – and the latter’s James Bond film-star status – will make them popular at London Concours.

German coupés will be represented by a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing and a Porsche 356C.

The motorsport-inspired 300SL was an instant hit following its 1954 launch, and with a powerful straight-six engine it was the fastest production car of its time, too.

Meanwhile, a 1964 356C will showcase the final iteration of Porsche’s pre-911 coupé.

There will also be an equally impressive line-up of Italian machinery, including a Ferrari 250GT Berlinetta SWB.

The SWB is among Maranello’s most legendary sports cars – and just 160 were made.

This will be joined at London Concours by a Maserati 3500GTI, one of the cars that helped the marque establish itself following its withdrawal from motorsport in 1957.

The London Concours returns for its seventh edition between 6-8 June 2023

“This year’s event features some truly magnificent cars, and this is particularly evident in the Golden Age Coupés category, which shines a spotlight on a defining era for the motor industry,” said Andrew Evans, London Concours Director.

“It is no exaggeration to say that the class includes some of the greatest cars ever created, and we are absolutely delighted that visitors to the London Concours will have the opportunity to savour them up close to fully appreciate their innovation, beauty and engineering excellence.”

The London Concours will return to the Honourable Artillery Company, found between Liverpool Street and Moorgate stations in the heart of the British capital, from 6-8 June 2023.
