It is hard to believe it hasn’t been done already, but today Playmobil revealed its James Bond Aston Martin DB5, shortly after the release of the 25th film in the series, No Time To Die.
Rather inevitably, it is a much less, errr, blocky recreation than Lego’s popular effort released in 2018, but like that version, Playmobil’s is a Goldfinger Edition model, paying tribute to the 1964 film.
It is available to buy now, priced at £69.99 – and we suspect it could be in demand with Christmas not that far away.
As well as the Aston Martin and, of course, 007, the set includes three additional figures: Auric Goldfinger, Oddjob and what’s described as ‘another henchman’, but we’re sure he could take on any role your narrative demands.
And, of course, many of Q’s famous gadgets from the Goldfinger film are featured.
These include an ejector seat, operated by pressing the tailpipes, throwing the passenger through the removable roof panel, plus front and rear rotating numberplates, a retractable bulletproof shield and tyre slashers, as well as retractable machine guns beneath the headlights.
