Owners and car clubs always put on a brilliant display of classics

Taking to the 1000-yard hillclimb will be a phalanx of British motorsport legends, headed by a celebration of 65 years of the British Touring Car Championship.

Cars already confirmed include a 1978 BSCC Toyota Celica, which will be reunited with former driver Mike Wilds, a 1971 Broadspeed Ford Escort RS 1600 making its Shelsley debut that will be driven by John Fitzpatrick who won in it in period, and an ex-Barry Lee Group A Ford Escort Mk3 RS 1600i.

If you own a genuine BSCC or BTCC car and would like to take part, email rebecca@eventspr.co.uk.

Other celebrations will include 90 years of ERA, plus 60 years of both McLaren and the giant-killing Mini Cooper ‘S’.

Hero driver Warwick Banks will be returning to the wheel of the mighty Mini, while further star names already confirmed include Formula One ace and five-time Grand Prix winner John Watson, as well as Formula Atlantic regular Ian Flux, plus Ralli22 will be back, bringing Group A, Group B and WRC rally cars to Shelsley Walsh.
