Next year's eighth running of Castle Combe's Autumn Classic will see racing heroes of the 1960s take the spotlight, as the 2019 edition's theme is confirmed.
On Saturday 5 October, British successes in motorsport on the national and international stages will be celebrated at the Wiltshire circuit.
After all, this was the decade in which Graham Hill, Jim Clark, John Surtees and Jackie Stewart were all Formula One world champions, as Lotus and BRM took on the might of Ferrari.
Think ’60s and Special Saloons, Modified Sports, Clubmans and Formula Ford all come to mind, too.
Indeed, 1969 saw the creation of the Castle Combe Formula Ford Championship, the UK's first circuit-based series, and its half-century will be honoured next October.
Castle Combe's ’60s stars will also be remembered, including saloon-car racers Brian Cutting, Richard Longman, Geoff Mabbs and Vince Woodman.
And 2019's Autumn Classic will pay tribute to more local heroes, as it's the 60th anniversary of Marcos – and a sizeable gathering of cars is expected at the event.
On track, there will be a trio of Historic Racing Drivers' Club races, including the new Classic Alfa Challenge, and much more.
